“Many stories, like my own, are paralyzed by circumstance– circumstances that required me to think, not about what I wanted to be when I grew up, but, “what was I allowed to be?” Scenarios reached me at a critical time in my life when I felt powerless. Asking me to provide my perspective, to provide my opinion is such a simple act. But for me, it was everything. It was the first time I felt empowered, like my voice mattered. The physical and psychological barriers that had silenced my voice before could no longer stop me. And, that’s why I am here tonight.” Mariella Zavala, Texas REAL DEAL Student Winner, Bitter Memories
“Feeling heard and listened to changes you. Conversation changes you. Every kid deserves the opportunity to be who they want to be. Let tonight be the night that you decide to help them get there.” – Cat Greenleaf, USA DAYTIME; NBC’s Talk Stoop
Founders. Storytellers. Visionaries.
For 15 years, Scenarios has served young people, their schools and communities.
That’s 15 years of collaboration, conversation, inspiration and appreciation.
Along the way, we have delivered inquiry-based curricula accompanied by
Scenarios films to classrooms and after-school programs nationwide. Our
youth-written films have challenged audiences to meet young people where
they are and invest in the issues shaping their lives, such as bullying, sexual
violence, gender identity and social inequality.
Scenarios celebrated our 15th year by honoring the individuals and companies
who were with us from the start and helped to put Scenarios on the map.
