It's a wrap!
Bitter Memories square Josh and Mariela
Scenarios USA shoots 3rd "masculinity" film in South Texas
Congratulations to writer Mariela Z. and director Josh Marston (Maria Full of Grace) for having finished shooting their film Bitter Memories. Mariela wrote her powerful script about breaking the cycle of domestic violence in response to our critical thinking question: What's the REAL DEAL about masculinity?

Earlier this year we wrapped two other films that address very different issues related to masculinity. Our New York City writers and Clark Johnson (The Wire) shot Misunderstood; and our Cleveland writer and Rawson Marshall Thurber (Dodgeball) shot MANChild . These films take a critical look at fatherhood, strength and violence, and masculinity in the media.

Over here at the Scenarios USA Curriculum Corner I'm hard at work writing the new Masculinity Curriculum, which will incorporate lessons on our three new films. We're set to launch the currriculum in April but our Curriculum Corner newsletter subscribers will get sneak peeks at lessons that you can use straightaway. So sign up if you haven't already - and spread the word!

If you would like to attend the NYC premiere of our new films on December 10, 2008 please email my colleague Dane Reiley at dane@scenariosusa.org.
