"What's the REAL DEAL?" Film Program
|
Our "What's the REAL DEAL?"
films stand out from the crowd because each
film comes with a lesson plan, a Behind
the Scenes documentary and the shooting
script. Our interdisciplinary lesson plans
provide educators with a proven tool to
facilitate a conversation between students,
helping them to think critically about the
film and about their knowledge and attitudes.
Ric Loya, of the Los Angeles United School
District HIV/AIDS Prevention Unit said this
about our films: "The strength of the
Scenarios USA film
programs is their relevance, because they
were written by the students themselves. The
quality of the content and the production are
super and they engage the students
immediately regardless of their culture, race
or ethnicity."

Masculinity Curriculum
Beth Reis of the Safe
Schools Coalition had this to say about
our "What's the REAL DEAL about
Masculinity?"
curriculum, a multi-disciplinary, multi-media,
9 lesson
curriculum for classroom and community
educators:
" I watched all three movies that comprise
"What's the Real Deal About Masculinity?" and
read the curriculum and I am blown away. It
is outstanding- thought-provoking,
challenging and important."
If you have questions about the curriculum or
would like to receive a sample lesson, please
contact me at

On Wednesday, May 6th, I gave a
"What's the REAL DEAL about Masculinity?"
workshop to Social Studies, English, Drama
and Health Teachers in Edinburg, South TX, in
anticipation of our "What's the REAL DEAL?"
writing contest, which will start in
September 2009. I was thrilled by the
good turnout, as local school districts were
closing down by the day due to the H1N1 flu.
Thanks to everyone
who turned up and
participated!
Teacher training
workshops in Greater Cleveland are set for
September 15
and 16. Please email Steph Wahome,
Cleveland Coordinator, for more details at
steph@scenariosusa.org.
