Scenarios USA Speakers Bureau

Members of the Scenarios USA Speakers Bureau

The Scenarios USA Speakers Bureau is made up of past winners and participants of the Scenarios USA “What’s the REAL DEAL?” writing contest who are skilled in public speaking on the issues that their films address, including youth development, social justice and sexual health.

The Speakers Bureau is a part of Scenarios USA’s Advocacy Leadership Institute (ALI), which helps young people develop as leaders in their communities and amongst their peers.

Using the film they wrote or helped make as a starting point, Speakers Bureau members talk about how identity and community intersect with social justice issues related to sexual health and education. Here is a sample of topics that Speakers Bureau have spoken on:

  • Bridging progressive reproductive health ideals and real teen life
  • Confronting stigmas: HIV/AIDS, urban/rural youth, and sexuality
  • Using story writing to promote healthy living
  • Promoting social justice through filmmaking
  • Teens advocating for comprehensive sex education
