Action Coalition for Media Education (ACME)

ACME develops, distributes and promotes media literacy curricula; advocates for independent media making as a critical part of a democratic society and vibrant culture; and supports local, state and national media reform efforts.

Listen Up!

Listen Up! has assisted more than a thousand youth from diverse backgrounds in the researching, production, editing, and distribtuion of their own media. This project lets youth know that their work and voices are important and valued while contributing to an open climate for youth media production.

Media Awareness Network

Canada's Media Awareness Network is a world leader in providing educational approaches to emerging media literacy and information related topics, and is committed to maximizing the positive aspects of all media for the benefit of children and young people.

Media Literacy Review

The Media Literacy Review is an on-line publication which provides resources related to the influence of media in the lives of children, youth and adults for educators, producers, students and parents.

Advocates for Youth

Dedicated to creating programs and advocating for policies that help young people make informed and responsible decisions about their reproductive and sexual health, Advocates for Youth provides information, training, and strategic assistance to youth-serving organizations, policy makers, youth activists, and the media in the United States and the developing world.

Teen Pamphlets

Advocates For Youth Teen Pamphlets are written by and for young people. Topics include: STI's, contraceptives, GLBTQ issues, emergency contraception, HIV/AIDS and date rape.

American Social Health Association (ASHA)

The American Social Health Association is recognized by the public, patients, providers and policy makers for developing and delivering accurate, medically reliable information about STDs. Public and college health clinics across the US order ASHA educational pamphlets and books to give to clients and students. Community-based organizations depend on ASHA, too, to help communicate about risk, transmission, prevention, testing and treatment.

American Social Health Association (ASHA)

The ASHA Web site contains a Facts and Answers Web about sexually transmitted infections that may be a particularly good reference.

US Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)

CDC is the lead U. S. federal agency for protecting the health and safety of people - at home and abroad, providing credible information to enhance health decisions, and promoting health through strong partnerships. CDC serves as the national focus for developing and applying disease prevention and control, environmental health, and health promotion and education activities designed to improve the health of the people of the United States.

DASH provides information, standards and models for basic health education and health promotion for elementary, middle and secondary schools.

The National Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy

The National Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy is a nonprofit nonpartisan organization dedicated to improving the well-being of children, youth, and families by reducing teen pregnancy. TeenPregnancy.org provides up-to-date research, resources and information regarding teen pregnancy and prevention in the US.

Planned Parenthood Federation of America

PPFA is the world's largest voluntary reproductive health care organization. PPFA also provides educational programs and resources to enhance understanding of individual and societal implications of human sexuality.

Sex, Etc.

A national newsletter and Web site (www.sexetc.org) that is written by teens, for teens, about sex, pregnancy, condoms, birth control, sexually transmitted infections, and relationships. Sex, Etc. is part of the National Teen-to-Teen Sexuality Education Project, developed by the Network for Family Life Education at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey.

Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States (SIECUS)

SIECUS is a national, nonprofit organization that affirms that sexuality is a natural and healthy part of living. Incorporated in 1964, SIECUS develops, collects, and disseminates information, promotes comprehensive education about sexuality, and advocates the right of individuals to make responsible sexual choices.
